If the OEM antenna was designed to make an XK go fast, does a 3 inch stubby antenna make it half-fast?

Ha! I acknowledge your snobbery and say harrumph!

Honestly with the old electric that would pop up involuntarily even when listening to CD’s I felt like a junior high school kid walking past girls PE class:... OMG, my aerial is showing! I hope no one see’s.

£50+ for an antenna and amp, OEM Jaguar. And you'd rather use perhaps inferior ebay stuff? I wouldn't

my antenna was broken and decided to try out a "stubby". took less than 10 min to install. the range is not perfect but WAY better than with a broken antenna and totally acceptable for my use of FM. i like the way it looks too. this is what i boughtAntennaMastsRus - Conversion Kit is Compatible with Jaguar XJ6, XK8, XJ8, XJ8L, XJ12, XJR, XJS, XJS, XKR https://a.co/d/e1O64MQ

at some point i might get more ambitious and try one of the marine antenna / antenna in spoiler upgrades mentioned in the forum in several places but for now this works.

Not bad with your black car, but would be more noticeable on a lighter color car.

3 inch stubby antenna replacement. I was a bit tardy adding the picture. It gets the marginal reception you would expect but covers the hole without bodywork. I may run a better antenna later thru the spoiler area.
