Default x150 Steering Column adjust issue

2007 xk.

Steering column will extend and raise, will not retract or lower. Once in fully extended/raised position, no further movement is possible unless you remove the upper steering column assy. and power the motor while manually activating the solenoids. Switch appears good (have tried 2 with identical results, column appears to be working correctly (have tried 2 with identical results) so I'm thinking there's something in the circuitry that is bad. Schematic has a very vague "instrument cluster" section between switch and motor/solenoids with no detail on what transpires there.

Anybody else experiencing this? Any better schematics out there? Is this possibly a relay issue (try finding a diagram for relays!)?

Plan for now is to find an acceptable wheel position and use the seat adjustment to fine tune when driving. I'd really like to have the auto function available to facilitate entry/exit.

TIA-

Something you might try - check each of the seating pre-sets. They store steering wheel position as well as the seat positions. That might narrow down the issue to the switch on the steering column, anyway.
