The heated steering wheel option is available, I've seen it in one of the video's or pictures. But I'm not sure if it is available on the main screen and if it works.
mine has the heated steering wheel option, so when if I buy the unit you'll know if it works.
The screen brackets are mounted to the display with 3 screws, indeed easy to create a custom bezel.

The original head unit of the XF is similar to the XK one, I can't believe that Jaguar arranged the cables / pin layout differently. But I may be wrong...

I don't own entertainment system wire diagrams of the XF nor the XK...

I have it, it turns on permanently when electing that option. There's no button in the climate menu to control it.

Man, there's always something to ruin a good easy mod.

From Taffyduck on the X250 forum. He took a pic of the smaller unit after selecting the XK in settings. Heated steering is there. Now whether any of it works as intended is another question.

If Yes, then I want it.

Actually, I don”t. I have precisely that in my LR and it is so slow in comparison. Especially the nav.

I posted this in the XF thread:

Despite all problems / bugs seen here, I might have a go for one 7" spieces, being the guinea pig for the XK.
Anyone who would like to suggest a supplier? I saw a few on Aliexpress and Alibaba.
Seeing the steering wheel button did it for me.

Can you post a few links Bob?
I've seen a few too but then caught that many are for the 2012 XF onward. Does the can bus issue (displaying in Chinese on gauge cluster) that Taffyduck encountered concern you? Seems a one off but not sure how that can be solved for.

alibaba:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...005606199.html

Aliexpress:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001972983631.html (the one I had a conversation with)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002009565909.html

The chinese text does concern me but when I buy I'll try to get it delivered with an XK canbus decoder from the tesla size option.

Thanks Bob. The one you had a conversation doesn't deliver to the US so not an option for me anyway.

I've asked the Can Bus questions to the other sellers though.

I think decoder 20210126 wouldn't be an issue in the XK and suspect Taffyduck's can bus is a different part# because he has the 2012 XF?

In any case, I sent the inquires and will share the response when I get it

So just a quick update - I did purchase the smaller unit for grins mostly. What I've found so far and next steps:
The unit comes with the XF can bus (obviously). I ordered an XK can bus as well. Problem is they are different size connectors and the XF has additional wires, I assume to operate the buttons.
Once I connected it, the screen didn't come on. I could hear the climate come on on.
I swapped the harness from my Tesla style unit and it came right up.
The buttons below the CD player do not respond.
All other functions work the same as the Larger screen - so I won't get into that here - just view those posts.

I'm putting the Tesla unit back in for now, which I really like but I think Cabrio Bob is giving it a go or considering it. I'll leave it at that and hopefully he will find a solution:

I would only use the smaller unit if the manual controls worked, so not a lot a value for me right now.

Sean thanks for your update.
I'll see if I can get them to deliver a tesla style wiring harness. I will also point them to this forum.
I'm not too worried about the buttons not working below the CD player.
is the screen a direct bolt on or are custom brackets needed?

Oddly enough Bob, the mounting brackets that came with mine are horizontal as opposed to the verticals in the pics above. So mine would not be direct but very easy to fabricate one. Either way it will be a non issue.
I'm going to take it for a quick drive to see if the gauge clock "catches up" to real time, a complaint among the XF group.

I would recommend to anyone who does this to pull the CD player too. It will leave a lot of room and the CD slot will be good for air circulation.

I'll do a quick video for all today - maybe get it posted tomorrow.

The same behavior as with the Tesla screen:
No you can't clear codes -
Temp is displayed in F only, not C - which is prolly only an issue with us "Muricans"
A/C works fine but the button does not illuminate.

Great info Sean.
The green conector that has Brown and green wires is the one that controls the hard buttons, you might need to compare harnesses, cut and add some wires.
Can you check if you get beeping from the parking sensors, while parking forward, try reversing first then forward.

Thanks Carlos. I don't have front sensors on my car.

Any cooled seat possibility?
Also, I use CDs still, cuz I'm old.
Another also, I'd absolutely need the ability to clear Dash Warnings.
Getting closer.........................

I think someone has cooled seats and it shows up on the Tesla units, if you have that option.
No CD - CD player is replaced with MP3 player in the unit. Load the music or play it from a USB stick.
Clearing codes will never be an option on any of these units. It's not built into the code.

Since Sean is using the Tesla style harness, that may be the reason the hardware button doesn't work. With Tesla units these hardware buttons are discarded.
Sean did you try the hazard lights button? This should still work, it is mandatory in many countries.
