Question XK air condition not working

Today morning I drove to work, it was about -8 degrees and the air condition suddenly stopped working and it is still down. What could the reason be? Jaguar XK 4.2 coupe 2007

Do you mean the whole climate control or just the air conditioning feature (which is still useful in the winter as it removes humidity from cabin air)?

So nothing happens if you press the big AUTO-button? What does the display look like if you go to climate on the menu? There are some buttons there like Econ which turns off the AC (air conditioning) compressor, and Climate <power symbol> which turns the whole climate control off.

I mean the whole climate control. I've tried everything but it does not work. I reckon that it has something to do with the fuse!

There's a listing of the different fuses in the handbook, but the fuse box between the rear seats has a "Blower motor" fuse (40A). If you get no airflow regardless of fan speed set, you might want to check it. The passenger compartment fuse box, right next to where you keep your left foot when driving (a bit of a pain to open the lid), holds an "Air conditioning" fuse (15A).

Could be the blower resistor, mi e went out last year. The blower won’t turn on because of it.

Does the screen work?

Please give a better description of what does or does not work, otherwise we are shooting in the dark. Screen off or on, lights on controllers working or not, fan blowing or not, etc, etc.

This is the common cause of this failure and it in turn is caused by water build-up in the AC unit pan because of plugged drains ("duck bills"). There is an enormous amount of information on this. The maintenance procedure to prevent this (too late in your case, sadly) is to close all the vents, put the AC on full cold with the fans on MAX; the increased pressure will keep the duck bill drains open. This should be done monthly or as conditions require.

Everything works but the climate control does not. Fan does not blow but the seat heaters work. Only thing is the fan blowing

Ok, thanks! Sounds like the fan is the issue, and if so, there are great suggestions above.

The motors RARELY go bad, they are made by denso,
The resistors blow very easily, and are less than $20 on ebay
look at my previous posts.

The resistor is easy to change as well just a couple screws under the dash.

I do reccommend lubing your blower motor as well though.

i am curious. Why would you expect the air conditioning to work or even show if it is or not working when the outside tempture is -8 degrees?

It's not just for cooling; it removes some humidity from air.

True, but I believe it only activates the AC system during defrost of the windscreen. If on 'normal' AC, I don't think it engages the compressor unless the system senses a need from ambient temperatures, whatever that means on these newfangled-constant-variable-compressors...
