Default XK base audio speaker wire pinout

Hi, I’ve owned my 2007 XK for a week and can’t live with the “base audio” radio quality. I’ve read all the threads regarding upgrading to the X-Type speakers, full Alpine system, Premium Audio etc. but I’ve had success in the past tapping into the head unit speaker outputs and running them to Genesis amplifiers and Audison speakers which suit my listening tastes.

The problem is my lack of XK knowledge and the apparent myriad of options the XK came with regard to audio systems.

can somebody confirm:

If the base hifi actually employs a separate amplifier or does the head unit do the work?
Does the head unit/amplifier provide the full frequency range to all 4-channels?
Does anybody have a pinout for the speaker wires?

I’m not interested in an Android unit, I want to keep the car standard looking and have the aluminium trim which none of the Android units appear to come with. I also have heated front screen which the Android units don’t appear to support.

Check out the electrical guides in the Stickies section (top of forum). Be sure to match your VIN to the correct electrical guide.

I took a quick look in the guides and I don't see a separate subwoofer referenced for the standard head unit, as is showing for the premium versions.
