Default XK dash.

Hi. I love my 2008 XK, "Big Red" I call him. But traveling in bright sun I cannot read the information between the Tacho and the Speedo.

Is that a "normal" for these?

Cheers

I would say that the screen must have faded. Can you take a photo?

Did you turn the brightness up first, and make sure the headlights are off?

Doesn't happen to me fwiw. Also the LCD's from the XF will fit if you need to replace but if it's working well at night, the LCD is prolly not your issue.

Thank you. I guess that 16 years ago they didn't have non reflective screens like we do today.
I had it checked out by Beathams here in Hastings NZ, they said they couldn't fault it. But it would have been in their workshop out of bright sun. It would have worked fine then.
But we have other XK's in our club, they don't seem to have a problem.

Yep, I have turned the dash lights on full brightest and it works fine on dark days, Perhaps I had better get used to it, I have had my XK for 5 years. Good to know that the XF will fit is I have a problem.

Thanks for your reply.

Yep, always have the brightness full up, but I haven't tried the headlights "off" while driving. I always have them on "auto". But wouldn't they turn off on bright days?

However, I will try that next time. It is spring down here in the bottom of the Southern Ocean, lots of days to try it.

Thanks for your reply
