Default XK Headlight Adjustment Repair Kits

My 08 XK night driving lighting isn't meeting needs. Took vehicle to tech for diagnosis. Advised that beam directional controls are not functional and headlight assembly should be replaced but new assemblies are not available and used ones are likely equally compromised because of age. I have found repair kits on ebay and i'm wondering if any members have purchased and installed these and whether expectations were met. Kits are priced around $90 incl shipping, import fees and taxes

DO you have the adaptive headlights? If not, then nothing to do.
If so, check the front ride height sensor on the front suspension. It's a little box with linkage and a wire harness attached. Those can go out of whack and screw up things.
Also, both headlights are wonky? That usually never happens with those. Even if they don't auto-adjust, they still aim to where they are supposed to aim.

The going price for even used headlight assemblies is about $3k per each. The controllers, who knows?

What even is a "Repair Kit"??? A screwdriver and a guide to the car's headlight leveling screws?

Search this forum (Top RHS) for headlight wiring and see if any prior posts help with your question and potential solutions.

My 07 is the same as your 08, There are two adjusters per side that take 1/4" Allan keys I believe, Each adjuster has to be turned multiple times for a change. Park infront of a wall, at night with lights on, about 20' back from the wall. The center of the right light should go straight out, at almost the same height. The center of the left one is angled a little to the right and lower. Come Spring I will be installing a new set of light bulbs, with more lumens. I am happy with my adjustments, but it requires patience. Some garages can't do field repairs.
