Default XK & XKR Rear subframe, are they the same?

Hello great to be on this forum!

I have a 2006 XKR with a crusty rear subframe and perished bushings.

Looking at a XK subframe perowned. They look pretty much the same but will be it a straight bolt on?

Welcome to the forums ronzinio,

Not suprised to hear the bushes are perished but unlucky to have rear subframe problems on an X150.

According to the Parts Catalogue, the same subframe fits both XK and XKR (except for Portfolio) with a change at VIN B32240.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Mine had as well 2 years ago and 60K miles done, not awfully expensive for new ones, though I went with custom made solid bushes which will last forever. Considering the amount of labour involved to remove the subframe I'd not replace with used ones as you'll face the same problem again and be no further ahead but with a lighter wallet.

May I ask where you got custom made ones done? Didn’t know that was something I could do. My XKR has 147k on the clock (I bought it high mileage as it was the cheapest at the time) so I was weighing up how to proceed to not have the costs escalate too much.

I have already got the old subframe off (boy that thing is heavy!) The challenge really is not the bushes which mount to the body, they’re worn but not super bad, the bushings that the differential attaches are the ones which are perished bad

Well, that's even easier then! They're the same as fitted to all other Jags with the same diff, S-type, XJ, etc. and easier to swap XR818453. See my thread here:
