thanks Steve,
So the f type frame fits and it’s aluminium
great info. I’ll look into that
rwd with hydraulic rack
so an earlier f type
makes sense I fitted an f type aux rad and it sits inside.
I owe you a beer 👍

There is no difference in the crossbeam used for the Coupe and Convertible. The part has been superseded three times:

The last version is listed as fitting the entire X150 range from 2007 - 2014.

Sorta related question. Need to replace swaybar D-bushings. Is it possible to just lower the subframe a couple of inches to do the job by backing out the bolts and a-frame, without a bunch of hassle beyond disconnecting the steering knuckle? And maybe the four shockmount nuts? Looks like the assembly would rotate down to the limit of the upper suspension mount (#4 and 14).

Would do it on a lift with screw-jacks supporting the subframe, with a top brace supporting the engine, of course.

Note (according to the 5.0 manual) the 5.0 D-bushings are relatively easy to replace. The 4.2 manual wants me to remove the subframe, which seems major overkill. This is a 4.2.

Thanks

I noticed in the above thread that you mentioned that the ftype subframe fits the xk. Is it a straight swap or is there suspension components that need changing too?
Mine has rotted out near the banana link so need to replace and ftype ones are little less rare and alloy would be a bonus too!!
thanks in advance

There is a few variances of the subframe, you want the spec'd subframe with RWD & the hydraulic rack (there's also AWD & electric rack which isn't what we want )
