I just purchased an XKR 175 and noticed that my calipers don't have the white "R" on them. Is the "R" painted on or is it some kind of decal/badge?

I never noticed either way on the 175 I sold. If you're concerned about your car being a legit 175 go to Jaguar topix: https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topix/user/loginForm to get the build of your VIN.
The 175 is a great car; however, I was disappointed Jaguar never built the 175 to the performance standards of the European 75. The 175 is a standard XKR with a body kit. I bought my 2013 XKR because it had the dynamic pack (same suspension, dynamics, and wheels as the XKR-S) and the performance exhaust. You can turn your exhaust into the performance exhaust by simply removing the 2 mid resonators and replacing them with an X-pipe.

I just had my grey ones painted red (yes, shake your head) and bought some vinyl stickers for them from ebay, which look great. See http://www.supergraphicsf1.com/Jaguar_Brake_Calipers.htm

I know it's a real 175. Just was confused that I've seen pictures online of the 175 and it has the Jaguar "R" on the calipers where as mine doesn't. I would like mine to be as original as possible. Could have been previous owner wanted it that way and had them removed or maybe a warranty issue that replaced the plate on the caliper. Really happy with my purchase regardless of what other newer models have.Originally Posted by DGL

That actually looks better than what I've seen is supposed to be on them. If I can't find something that is factory I will go with those. Thank you.Originally Posted by BruceTheQuail
