Pilot Sport or P Zero Nero are popular. Check the date codes regardless of the tire you pick. You want codes within a year or two.

I see you live in Porto, you should be able to avoid all season tires unless you're going to the Douro in the winter.

only a couple of year ago jaguar dealers in the UK wear replacing the standard dunlops as they were prone to cracking and that was on newish cars at 3 year old . we call dunlops , Dunslips coz thats what they do . Slip in the wet now over in the good ole USof A were its warmer and drier they might be fine but not in the UK. https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=98775

yes, our weather is normally warm all year in Portugal, but Oporto very wet and windy on winter. Of course Douro or other places near Spain are cold and with some snow/ice in winter. You already visited Douro

Well for our weather i must buy summer tires for sure.
Already done some search on near tires shop:
- Tires, available on our market recommended by Jaguar:
Pirelli PZERO and Dunlop Sport Maxx. Both with "J"
- Tires with best price
Pirelli PZERO and Bridgestone Potenza S00
- Most expensive
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S
- Recommended (maybe more usual)
Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S; Pirelli PZERO;

reading, on Tire Rack website, tests results (tests dated of 2011) Michelin Pilot S was the best on their category. Tested with a BMW, not a Jaguar.

Yes, I have spent a little time in Porto and Douro. I am big fan of port wine and Portuguese dry wines.

Most owners in US did not stay with the Dunlops on the XK due to the replacement costs. Dunlops were like $700 each or something crazy. Jag must've got a deal on those at the time.

I have never personally experienced new Dunlops; only old ones.

Paulo, thank you for coming back to us with the update it is most appreciated.

I like many find the MPS4S's to be superb, there are those that are critical of 'the brand' in general and I'm not alien to this as had new Uniroyal Rainsport 2's damaged when I mounted a curb at a normal speed, so I simply won't buy a Uniroyal tyre again.

My MPS4S's have been on for 2yrs/10k miles/16k Km and they are all above 5.5mm of tread.

One thing to remember....
All those who say "I put on new XXXXX brand tires in place of my old hard used ones, and the performance is noticeably improved......."
Just remember, you went from Old Hard Used tires to Young Soft New tires. Of COURSE there will be an improvement.
I'd like to hear from the guy who just bought full sets of six different brands and tried them all from New within a week from purchase.

Michelin PS 4s are what I use on my 213XKR for similar driving. Therefore, I think you made a good choice.

I have just bought some new MPS4S's for the rear of my car as they are down to the tread wear indicators after a similar time and distance.

They have put up with over 90 quarter mile runs though!
