Default XKR 75 Vortex Wheels now available

The Vortex wheels that came on the XKR 75 are now available on the 2014 XKR with the Black Dynamic Performance Pack option. In the stratus grey color it makes the car the same as the XKR 75 except the wheels look like they are black diamond cut. You can go to Jaguar USA and build one.

Oh yeah! I missed that somehow....

This is good because the XKR-75 had the narrow track rear end & the offset of the rear wheels was a PITA to fit to other models.

XKR-75, Vortex, Diamond Turned
10.5J x 20, C2P21958
9J x 20, C2P21957

XKR & XKR-S From VIN B52987, Vortex, Gloss Black
10.5J x 20, C2P25175
9J x 20, C2P25174

The gloss black version is a bit cheaper than the diamond finish too!

Anyone know the offset specs? If they would fit, I'd put them on my 2009 XKR with Alcon brakes in a heartbeat. Much more appealing to me than the stock Selena wheels.

Stuart:

The offsets on Selenas are +49mm front and +31mm rear. The Coventry wheels I ordered were +45 front and +25mm rear, and the rears still do not fit.

There are plenty of 20" wheels out there with lower offsets, but they still won't fit our cars.

Each wheel has to be made to accept our Alcon brakes. I have a vendor WheelTec of Tampa, FL | Custom Wheels, Tires and More! from Tampa Florida doing some research on our rare Jaguars with the Alcon's. I will hear back on Jan 7th, 2014 as my wheel contact is out of the wheeltec office until then.

Richard,

Thanks for the info on the Selena offsets. Where did you find it?

The 2008 XKR-S (European model) was equipped with Alcon brakes and Vortex forged wheels, so I think the Vortex wheels should fit. Although the fronts are the same 9" width as the Selenas, the rears are wider - 10.5" compared to 10". I prefer using an OEM Jaguar design wheel, and a forged wheel is much stronger than a cast wheel (and more expensive, but worth it IMHO).

I'll see if my dealer's parts department can determine if the Vortex wheel will fit and, if so, the cost.

Here's a photo of the 2008 XKR-S with Alcon brakes and Vortex wheels:

Stuart:

Love the Vortex Wheels also:

Our OEM 20" Selena wheels are:

Jaguar 2009-2010 XKR Portfolio "Selena" Triple 5 Spoke
Size: 20x8.5 front and 20x9.5 rear
Bolt Pattern: 5x108...
Centerbore 63.4mm....
Offset: +49mm front and +31mm rear

The Vortex wheels cost about $800 each....just not sure they would fit.
Let me know what your Jaguar dealer tells you.

Just remember that the rear track did change for 2011MY

Up to VIN B32572 it was the ET31 to ET35 on the rear with a 9.5" rim
After VIN B32572 it went to the same offset as the XF, which is around ET50 for a 9.5"
(don't quote me on the exact offset though, but it will be somewhere around that)

The new Gloss Black Vortex wheels will have the offset for the later models, as you can see from the VIN listing in the parts catalogue.

You can fit them to the earlier cars by using a spacer on the back axles to reduce the offset.

Looks like the Vortex from Potamkin are $1665.00 & $1710.00 each.......could never recover the cost if car is sold in the secondary market.

Way to expensive for my Polish budget.......

Looks like the Selena wheels stay on the car........the hunt for aftermarket wheels continue.

The 75 has the same rear axle as any 5.0 XKR or R-S - are you thinking of the 2008 XKR-S 4.2, which did have the narrower track? I know that the 75's Vortex rears are a different offset from the 2008 car. You should be able to put the 75's wheels on any 5.0 car, but of course there aren't many (any?) around.

Useful to know they're manufacturing more of the Vortex wheels, even if the finish is wrong. One of the issues with limited edition models is that parts can be a problem as they get older. I've already determined that the 75's front upright, which was a specially machined part, can be replaced with the Dynamic Pack and R-S equivalent - the design is the same, they just changed the manufacturing process when they moved to volume production. The wheels were the only other concern I had.

A full set of Vortex wheels is 4.8kg lighter than the standard XKR Kalimnos set.

Sadly, +1

That's $6,750 for a set! Without tires!

At that price, they should be gold alloy - but fail to reflect the recent decline in the price of gold.

Not worth the price for me, too. The search goes on...

Yep, those are the 5.0 fitting, which is standard on the 2014 Dynamic R and an option on the R-S. Nice (sort of!) to know how much it'd cost to replace mine, though I'd have to have them repainted dark grey.

Wow they also have a set of Vulcan 20 inch XKR-S wheels black gloss as well..would these fit on my 2012 XKR with black pack?? Is this a reputable seller?? What does the statement "These were fitted with tyres then removed" mean (What does that have to do with the price of tea in China)?

Seller has 100% feedbck on eBay which is very good.

Cost to ship wheels with tires mounted from UK is quite expensive, and then you will have to pay a shipping tax to the carrier.

I went thru this last year on a spare wheel and tire. Cost for shipping was about $85.00 for the 1 small donut type spare.

Can't imagine what the cost would be for 4 full size tires and wheels. Warrants doing research on shipping costs.

I sent an email to jag-land-uk and they quoted shipping of their Vulcan XKR-S Gloss Black rims to be 275 Pounds. If I can talk them down a wee bit on the rims that puts the rims at about 2000 dollars for the set shipped. That being said I just called terry's jaguar parts and cost of the rims themselves are 3100 without shipping !!!!!

275 British Pounds = $460.00 USD

Also quite interesting to see that these OEM Jaguar wheels are made in Taiwan.
