Default XKR Interior trim - 2011

Gooday. I have already read the thread about making the interior trim black (and I might end up doing that), which is really useful.

I'm just about to take delivery of a 2011 (MY11) XKR. It has walnut trim which I dont really like, I had that in my first XF. I'd rather black (which I have in my current XF), or aluminium. Maybe CF would be too much...

Anyone know where it can be bought? I'm from Oz, so it would have to be for a right hand drive.

Thanks...

Seriously though... and this will expose ignorance on my behalf but I don't know where Oz is... I do scan the UK Ebay though and see a lot these sorts of parts for our cars. Sometimes you can look through the listings to expose the vendor and then go through their website.

At the end of the yellow brick road.

Hi there....

You could always look at either "hydro dipping" or perhaps a wrap of your choice?

Carbon hydro dipping...

Or perhaps a wrap of your choice in piano black, carbon fibre or whatever you require.
I actually had my interior trim in my A6 wrapped in Titanium as the original was looking a little tired. It turned out very well with no issues and is still great around 6 months on for not a lot of money.

Before.....

After.......

I suppose at least with a good quality wrap you could always put it back to standard if required.....It may not be everyones taste and could almost be considered a selling point at a later date.

Good luck

I wonder which method would be more durable.....wrapping or dip?
Which one more expensive for the dash/door pieces?
Both very sweet!

Cheers, I've never heard of hydro-dipping, but then I'd never thought of using 3M wrap either. I'll see what is available here. I've seen piano black bits on ebay for what would be maybe $800 ozzie dollars, but that is in the UK and anyway, I've got piano black now and it can be a pain with finger marks even though it looks pretty good. The titanium wrap looks brilliant - did you do it yourself or do trim guys do it?

And R-Rated...Oz is short for Australia (or "Orstraya" as our recently deposed female Prime Minister insisted on saying). Not to be confused with Austria. Different hemispheres, and lots more sheep, snakes, and sharks.
