The parking brake warning keeps going even after shut down.
ODB shows
U0103-00 lost communication with gear shift module,
U0101-00 lost communication with Transmission control module.
U0121-00 lost communication with ABS control module.
U0402-08 invalid data received from transmission control module.
P0500-82 vehicle spend sensor.
The battery is 3 months old and fully charged, I have done the battery pos-neg tap, visually checked for lose connectors, replaced the ignition R-7 relay.
Any and all ideas will be appreciated.
Thank you

Screw it, I'm done trying to help you. Do it yourself.

I'm usually not a dick, but I can only take so much

Rike, just a note that if you ask for people's help on this forum, and then you ignore their thoughtful advice, they're likely to get a little short tempered with you. CJ knows his ****, and if he suggested you check your brake lights, it's worth your while to do so.

I am truly sorry about the delay in getting back to much appreciated help everyone has been providing but I had a family problem that I had to deal with that took a few days.

Finally got back to "Rupert" this morning. First check was the brake lights which worked. Thank you CJ this saved me having to check the brake cutout circuit.

Then checked voltage to all the fuses having to do ignition, Front junction box F2, 3, 12, 15, 17, 19, 20, 22, and the G7 ground, Central junction box F5 and 7. All were good.

Reading back through the tread the underlaying advice was to get a new battery. Rupert came with a new battery in April, the battery did not have the date pouched out so I took the sellers word for the new battery. During the course of troubleshooting I had tried jumping which was no help. I put the share battery that I keep for my XF in with no change of problem.

By this afternoon it was 98 degrees and I was still at ground zero. With no where else to go I went and bought a new H8 Duracell AMG battery charged at 14.5 volts.

Rupert started up with the only problem being the adaptive light warning.

Even if it makes no sense take the advice and get a new battery.

Thank you all for your advice,.

Now I just need to finish putting the new top on.

I think he nailed it the first time, as the vehicle displayed the appropriate code...
the root cause was :P0500-82 vehicle
spend sensor

i swear, sometimes XK diagnosis threads read like a zen koan.

A master who lived as a hermit on a mountain was asked by a monk, "What is wrong with this car?"

"What a fine battery this is," the master said in reply.

"I am not asking you about the battery, but about the car not starting."

"So long as you cannot go beyond the doors of an O'Reillys, my son, you cannot start the car," replied the master.

NAPA! My whole problem was down to a NAPA battery. Age of battery unknown as there is no manufacture date on the battery.

Yep, you called it. I have owned many lower level English cars, having lived there for 18 years, but none were this sensitive to battery voltage. Live and learn, I certainly will not make this mistake again.

Still don't understand why it wouldn't start with a jump from another vehicle?

Maybe inadequate (thin) leads? Not making good enough contact? Existing battery part shorting out? Who knows?

lol now having problems myself battery dies within an hour , no lights on nothing can't see what makes it dies that fast can boost it and charge it and put it on c-tek and goes back to 13.3 v but disconnect and 4 hours later its at 10 volts. Looking into it more tonight , battery is 3 1/2 years old. Charged it overnight and took positive cableoff this morning want to see if it holds the voltage being disconnected.

Even if it holds, would you REALLY trust it to bring you home after parking 44 miles away in a desolate location?

Need to sort out the problem , if their is a parasitic drain on the car I don't want it happening to a new battery.
