Default XKR Wont start

This thing is driving me nuts! Just bought a 2010 XKR and drove it for 2 days. Best ride i have ever driven. Then battery dies! I bought a mew battery, replaced it and the car wont start. Changed starter just to be sure and nothing. All electronics get juice, battery is good i have a flashing red light on the start stop button and a gearbox fault on the dash. All it does is click. Can anyone help?

A "new" battery rarely means a "charged" battery. Batteries sit at the factory to be shipped. Get shipped. Sit at warehouse. Ship to distributor. Sit in warehouse. Ship to retailer warehouse. Sit in warehouse. Ship to store. Sit in store back room.
Charge your new battery for 24 hours with at LEAST a 10-amp charger then try again. Do not use a 'trickle' or 'maintainer' type for this. You can use a decent maintainer AFTER your battery is completely charged.

Honestly, maybe this topic should be a sticky? It's usually the first problem for owners, and the easiest to repair. Also the most common.

These things are super-sensitive to low voltage, they can give a dozen fails and warnings when the battery is down to even 12.2 volts.

I've had my XK for just a couple of years, but I told my wife that if anything goes wonky with the car and I get worked up, first thing she should say is 'IT'S PROBABLY THE BATTERY'.
