I suspect my ‘12 XK convertible front shocks are beginning to fade. While on my internet bunny hunt for shocks, it seems like all the front shocks I could find were for the XKR (or XK8). My XK is a base model without any exotic stuff like adaptive/dynamic, so I was wondering if I can use the XKR ones and call it a day. Are XK8 shocks useable?

 

All XKR's have CATS. Therefore, no.

 

WHERE do you find all these XKR shocks? I've looked, none are ever in stock. And they are very pricey.

 

If you check rockauto every week you will see them pop up. They don't last long and it might take several months (5+) before you have a set of four.
