XKR/XKRS Oil Spec Change
Hello!
So I was looking at doing an oil change myself and when i searched the forums and youtube, everyone was using the 5W-20 (Ravenol). But when I went to the dealer, they went were using Castrol edge professional 0W-20.
Questions:
- When did the change happen? Also if it wasn't suppose to change, i am probably screwed since I did the oil change with the 0W-20
- Has anyone found a suitable substitute for oil? No auto-store sells the actual "Jaguar Spec" oil
- Is there a preference on vacuum vs. drip method? The XK manual has instructions for both methods.

Use the oil meeting the specification in the vehicle's Owner's Manual. Typically the later AJ133 and AJ126 use SAE 0w-20 oil. The brand is less important that ensuring the oil meets the JLR specification, which for later vehicles is STJLR.51.5122.
If you have an earlier AJ133, the specification is usually WSS M2C 913-C or WSS M2C 945-A depending on the date of manufacture.
