How much is that simple crossover pipe from Jaguar?

No idea, sorry - but it should be a standard part, as it is the standard exhaust on the XKR-S, so you could ask a dealer. You may need to quote an XKR-S VIN to get a price, though, since Jaguar can get 'funny' about people upgrading their cars via the spares route. Theoretically, it should be cheaper than the normal XKR centre pipe, because it's just a pair of pipes without the four silencer boxes, but I wouldn't count on it.

Nice mod, in your humble opinion, how much louder would the exhaust be if one removes both 15 (resonator) and 14 (resonator) and leave the std back box? And do you think that the would be drone..?

Any answer to this question? Looks simple and inexpensive but what are the "negative" consequences such as headache inducing "drone" at cruising speeds?

This is not a mod on my XKR. My 2013 XKR is optioned with the performance exhaust. The same exhaust as on the XKR-S. This option and the dynamic pack were must options for my next XKR. I was disappointed with the North America 2011 XKR 175, limited edition. The 175 was only optioned with the aero speed kit, no performance upgrades. If you were to delete your resonators and install the "X" pipe it should have no side effects. The previous 2011 XKR 175 had the resonators. I can tell you the sound difference is amazing. The crossover pipe makes a big difference. A very economical mod for owners that want the performance exhaust.

So it appears the only difference between stock and performance is resonators v. crossover pipe. I haven't experienced the performance exhaust option but I can imagine it is not going to sound overwhelmingly loud.

No, it also has larger outboard outlet pipes (the ones that are controlled by the active exhaust valves)

It seems a number of us grew up with different thoughts on these matters: > 3500 rpm = smile on my face and well exercised engine ;-)

Merry Christmas all!

With my old Ferrari 3500 was around 70MPH in 5th gear. Also every time I took it out we did a Ferrari tune up which was to run it up to 7500 rpm in 1st and 2nd gear just to keep the plugs clean. By the way what speed is 3500 rpm in 6th gear in the XKR.

Went forward with the mod, no more resonators & crossover added….

Holy crap it sounds good!!!

I have fuse 19 removed, so going to put it back in to see what difference it makes.

Car idles smoothly and quietly and in drive mode driving normally it is a quiet ride with just a bit of a growl but switch over to DS or shift manually and it roars to life with refined enthusiasm and no drone up to 70 MPH.

Highly recommended!

The nice thing about the exhaust from the cats to the muffler is the entire section is clamped together making it very easy to remove the pipes and resonators in one piece and save for possible future swap.

I had a custom exhaust shop make an entire replacement section including the crossover. I could have gotten a quote from dealer parts for the same factory section from the performance exhaust option, but this was easier and faster.

Can't give you a price because I made a barter deal with the shop owner but I imagine it would cost around $300 + or - a little.

Here's a picture example of what he did since I was not there to take pics.

Here is an option but you would need to measure spacing and pipe size. They sell a few options and a good muffler guy could put this together fairly quickly.
