Hey, don't be shy. Let us know your opinion; however, be tactful. Everyone likes different things. IMO, I think the stock performance exhaust is perfect for the car--not to loud, valves work great, and gives a great sound.

What is the part number for the Jaguar X-Pipe on the performance exhaust vs the standard piping with the resonators...anybody got that handy!?!?!

What ever it is, I'm going to have my friendly local custom shop fab and install one for me.

Your fine... I just really wanted to tell you I love the way you think - "No idea either but I am getting one!" .

I just called my Jaguar Service guy and he is going to call his parts guy - will let you know the part number for the Jaguar mid muffler section X-Pipe.

I could get it fabricated by a part place but I want real jaguar parts for authenticity purposes. If its not loud enough I am going to have local shop delete the rear bladder.

No negative at all each to his own of course. in this case if I was in the backyard and never saw a beautiful black jag going by I would have said it was a rusty jacked up 4x4 truck! Having said that I think my car is a little to quiet for my liking so I think removal of these two resonators will give it the rumble I'm looking for. I'm going with the muffler shop approach one at a time to get it just right not to loud to upset the people in the neighbourhood but enough to make it fun to go through the gears

Yep I am hoping the deletion of both resonators will do the trick...if not I may pull "fuse 19"..... Id rather not mess with pulling fuses in the like so if it dont fit me then there it is...bladder deletion.

The Intermediate Exhaust, as it appears to be called, is C2P22073 for the XKR-S, XKR-75 and the Performance Active system.

Crazy expensive! C2P22073 MSRP is $1,372.80 and sells for the bargain price of only $1,142.17 at Jaguar Merriam parts: Jaguar Parts - Jaguar Parts Center - Call (800) 510-1401 for Genuine Jaguar Parts and Accessories Any custom muffler shop should be able to do it for a fraction of that cost.

I am very pleased with the one I had fabricated for a $1000+ less than the factory one. I understand wanting all OEM parts but in this case it is just as functional and will never be seen unless you look under the car. For anything else, it's genuine Jaguar.

They refer to the three exhaust sections in the parts system as:

Exhaust downpipe and catalyst
Intermediate exhaust pipe
Exhaust silencer

Unlike the workshop manual, there isn't a picture in the parts system of the X-Pipe, just the normal Intermediate part, but as the models I mentioned all have the X-Pipe, C2P22073 must be the part number for it. Depending on VIN the standard 5L XKR's have C2P24864 or C2P12805 for the Intermediate section.

Just got a call from dealership.... They said in order to switch out the exhaust I could not just order the x-pipe.... They said the rear muffler bladder would need to be replaced and that would cost an extra 3000!!! So.... The difference in active vs performance indeed is the whole muffler system!!!!?!?!

Is the rear muffler bladder and down pipes/catalytic converter part numbers different???

So what I was told is this: the x-pipe may not fit up with the other sections correctly..... Therefore all parts must be ordered...whole new system.... Then that would cost a TON. I think I'm headed to a custom muffler shop lol

The rear box on the performance exhaust has larger outboard outlets than the standard XKR one. However, I don't believe the fitment is any different. In fact, I know that my car has the crossover centre section but a standard XKR rear box, because they hadn't created the uprated rear box when it was built.

What are you thoughts on the quicksilver exhaust system? I guess I should just go with that.

Me thinks, you pay a visit to our friendly custom (hot rod) exhaust shop. Have them lift it and advise. $3K, that's just blatant robbery. I'm very much a purists to some degree, but those numbers are way to spendy.
