I plan to upgrade to FrickenFast (bolt-on) cats. I'm not yet certain, though, which of the two options (200 cell vs 300 cell) will suit me best. So, I'm willing to purchase both to find out for sure..if someone here is willing to seriously consider taking the other at..say..a 10%(?) discount. I buy, I try, I send you the other set. I need to do this relatively soon...but, I can give you a reasonable amount of time to sort out your end..if need be..if you're certain.

NOTE: I'm really HOPING the 200 cell will suit me best...so, it's more LIKELY that you'll be stuck(?) with the more expensive set.

I wanted to shift the tone and focus of the previous thread seeking general opinions/advice on the matter..to a more targeted audience..to those who may be actively considering the matter themselves (not just simply curious about what others are doing). Perhaps I'm overthinking it.. perhaps this title could have been better (don't know how to change THAT now)...but I am on a timeline. I'm taking a road trip in April, and would really like to have this done before then.

As said in the other thread, buy a set of cats and get someone to swap them in. If you don't like it, at least you'll know what you don't like and maybe why. I'd much rather spend $300 to find out then later spend $2k for the purdy FF version versus waste $2k for something that you don't like. Or maybe you're just not wired like the rest of us.

So yes, you are way over thinking it.

If they were California compliant, I'd be interested as I need a set of cats, but alas, nobody makes an aftermarket that is certified for California.

The 300 cell is California Certified...one of the reasons the FnF is preferred (though as Ranchero keeps pointing out..they are expensive). Something to ponder.

I'm reposting this edited version because, I'm not sure if email alerts get sent out on edits to original posts.

NOTE: I'm really HOPING the 200 cell will suit me best...so, it's more LIKELY that you'll be stuck(?) with the more expensive set.

I can proceed with this proposal sooner if I can get one person certain about wanting the 200 cell, and another person certain about wanting the 300 cell.

FnF's cats don't show up in the CARB database for Jaguars. How can be they be California Certified? Good luck getting a smog test with those cats on your car in California.

Default This proposal is now closed.

I found a local guy that's been wanting the 300 cell himself, but will settle for the 200 cell (says he'll make it work for him) if I choose to keep the other. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks for all the advice.
