I'm looking for some information on a car that I have found. I'm a Corvette guy at heart owning a 1960, 1966, and 2003, but I stumbled upon the Jag. I must say what a beautiful car they are and this one in particular.

I found it odd that it has a little plaque on the drivers side mounted that states it's a replica of the record breaking car which achieved 141.51 mph at Jabbeke, Belgium.

Is this correct and would this have came on the car?

It's a very original car and is a very light blue with a dark blue interior. Still has the original engine and is complete with the wire knock off wheels. It has not been on the road since the mid 80's and has no plugs in it! The owner says he sprays lubricant in the holes from time to time. I have been here before because my 66 Stingray sat since 92 with no plugs and thankfully did not lock up. I would say the car will clean up extremely nice and that all the systems will need going through. I know the value of originality and keeping them correct.

My last question is with a car that has sat for this long, but is extremely nice what are ball park values? It also has a snap cover and the soft top frame.

The Jabbeke run was with an aerodynamic XK120 at 173+ MPH in 1951, with a standing mile at 174+MPH. I do not understand the 140 plate. A proper restored 140 MC Rdster can bring up to $140K at auction. Restoration is not easy as there is a lot of aluminum, but lots of metal available. Engine alone, depending on degree of refinishing maxes at about $10K for a proper upgrade engine. Gaskets and seals. Transmission are Syncro type and are easily resealed and syncros are available. Cross trannys are available to T-5s and Toyota 5-speeds. Cost is in all you want to do.
