Default Remove wheel cap on 1950 XK 120

How do you remove the center wheel cap on a XK 120? Do you just use a screwdriver or crow bar and just pop it off?

Welcome to the forums stoutd47,

Presumably this is the chrome cover (item 3) on a steel wheel (item 1) and not the two or three eared spinner (item 11) on a spoked wheel (item 6)?

If so, there is a Jaguar tool for this (P/N C26864) but it is only a flat bar bent over at the end. A large flat blade screwdriver will do the job although wrapping the end in electricians tape will prevent scratches.

If you want the genuine tool, here's a supplier in the UK with a useful photo:

http://coventryautocomponents.co.uk/...tool%20-c26864

You could use the P/N to find a supplier in the USA or the photo to replicate the tool from flat bar.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started on the forums.

Graham

Thank you Graham. I just purchased the car so as I learn more about the car I suspect I will be posting more questions.
