Default What’s it Worth: ‘54 LHD XK120 SE Roadster

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...se-roadster-2/

The BaT auction for this started today. I’m out of town but plan to post a detailed history and additional video soon to BaT. But short version is it was a beautiful car that was in good condition when vandalized by some kids, maybe with bats (see damage to passenger door, instruments, etc.). My brother completely stripped interior and trim and planned to do a complete restoration but never did. Engine was replace at some point and fortunately still turns even though it was parked and not driven after 1969. It currently resides in Phoenix AZ area.

We are really curious what price members on the forum think it will reach at the auction. A fellow forum member was kind enough to go over it and suggested the following info is important to share. It has a clean Missouri title. Please share any thoughts/suggestions you have. Thanks!

Important for bidders:

- Engine turns and pistons move freely (see video). The engine was replaced with a MK II cylinder head and a MK VII or a MK VIII engine block. The body number matches the data plate. We were not able to see the chassis number. We did not verify the gearbox number.

-There are some areas of significant rust damage: wheel wells, doors’ openings/thresholds, drivers’ side front fender near door, some areas on chassis like outer side on driver side near the fender is rusted through, exhaust pipes (driver side one is missing), area next to rear drivers’ side bumper mount (see photos for details)

-There are several areas where body filler is evident: on aluminum boot lid, doors, and a large area on driver side front fender. Appears to be from minor incidents, there is no evidence the car was in a significant accident.

-Original car color was probably Old English White or Cream (remnants can be seen in engine and boot area)

-Included in sale is an XK 120 OTS aftermarket vintage fiberglass hardtop. It is missing rear glass, inside cloth headliner and front chrome trim. It has a small crack in front center near where the mechanism for attaching to the car is located (see photos).

- Removed from the car and included in the sale: Brake drums, front and rear bumpers, convertible top, side curtains, front crash rail on dash, jack, front & rear bumper blades, grill, rear taillight lens and holder, driver side taillight, license plate light, batteries’ cover, rear license plate mount, glove box

- Spare parts included in the sale: set of windshield glass with frames, 2nd convertible top mechanism, wooden instrument panel with instruments from an XK120 DHC, brake master cylinder, 2nd starter, spare dip stick, one spare XK 120 60 spoke wire wheel, one 72 spoke E-type wire wheel, several wing mirrors, rear view mirror, 2nd batteries cover, service manual

- Missing parts: radio & amplifier, antenna, air cleaners, tool kit, trunk handle.
