Default XK120 Speedometer

I'm trying to determine how to figure out what's going on with my Speedometer. I'm going to detach the speedo cable from the meter and have someone check to see if the cable is rotating. Years ago I had the unit repaired I can
t remember if it was rebuilt at that time. That was back in 1979. The odometer isn't registering and the speed is at Zero. Any suggestions?

The first check you're already doing, which is to check the drive cable is rotating. If it isn't, it could be broken, or the little drive gear at the gearbox end has failed. If the drive cable is OK then it's time to delve inside the speedometer.
