Have removed power to the latch a year ago. No green shower worries, but, a lot of trouble to work manually. Would really appreciate a better way to safeguard my interior.

Jim, my 1998 XK8 in Amaranth (Purple !) has a working top (for the moment) thanks to the information on this site about changing the hydraulic fluid. Keep up the great work, and cheers to Gus for offering the kit.
