Default 01 jaguar xkr convertible

I have a 01 jaguar xkr convertible in my top won't go back. I check for leaks don't see any. I check the pump. It's not making a sound. Can somebody explain what I need to do. I'm thinking it's the pump

Check the 40 amp fuse (there is only one) in the trunk fuse box and see if it is blown.

Look at your relays. When you check voltage at the leads to the pump the White is the down feed with the Black as ground and the Black is the up feed with the White as the ground and both are ground when not solicited.

The 40a fuse provides power to pin location #5 at the up and down relay but not to the pump white and black leads until the relay is told to do so.

Do you have a part number for the relay and where it's located. I will just change it out.

When I hit the switch too let the top back. The relay make a clicking noise. The pump is full with fluid. Could the latch been done went out. Cause the top not completely closed. It's sitting on top of the latch

When you hit the button does the pump cut on and does the latch on the header open?

You have a up and down relay in the trunk fuse box and you will need to swap the relays, just remember if it works you relay problem moved to another location and you should replace that relay. Do you know if the roof has been operated manually? Where in the world are you located?

Mine is doing the same thing. It won't come down at all. Yesterday it was fine. The pump sounds like it is trying but then shuts off after 15 seconds or so. Any ideas here? It is 85 F outside and I want my top down. Thanks.

Is your latch opening? You need to check your fluid level and at the same time check the petcock closed on the side of the pump.

If the relay is not the problem then I would suggest recycling the roof operation. Manual roof operation JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource Once you get the roof open then close the petcock and close the roof electrically.

It is fixed. My husband went through motions of opening and closing several times and finally it worked. He must have reset it somehow.
