01 XK8 - changed radio
I had a new radio installed in my 01 xk8 and learned that the dash GPS and perhaps other dash controls were wired thru the original radio and now do not function. Can I repower the GPS by other means?

There is a yellow 26-position connector that went to your original headunit. Find the orange wire at position 8 and splice that to +12v. This should allow you to turn on the navigation system again.
Thanks, for your help to connect the gps, brother. I looks like we have much the same ride. Intimidated at first, I am eager to learn more about the vehicle and how to do my own service and upgrades. I love the car - got better than 20 mpg on my first long ride.
