Default 1997 xk8 rear light and fog light issue

Hi everyone, I have a problem. I tried to fix it and may have made it worse.
Here's r
The problem it started with the right rear driving lights not working, I checked the connection ad it had ground and power, build worked although in the left side. I could see no logical reason it would not work. No bulb failure on the dash.
The fog lights worked so I removed the fog bulbs and put in driving bulbs. Driving at night solved I had rear lights, it was annoying to have 1 bulb on the right but 2 bulbs on the left.
I decided to wire on the right side the rear lights and fog lights together. It worked but I had rear bulb failure in the dash.
I moved the positive connection away from the right side driving bulb. Not a good idea as I now have no f fog lights. On the front and back. And still have no driving lights on the right side. I imagine I have blown a fuse or relay but I have no idea where to check help please

please do me a favor, put in chronological order, the specific details of your work. for example,
1. right rear driving lights non-functional. brake lamp worked in both 'normal' and 'stop' mode.
2. moved fog light bulb into driving light socket. <- if that's even what you meant, its hard to make out what your doing, sorry.
etc.

Thanks for the offer to help. I grounded the rear lights and changed the fuses. The lights are working again. Just need to repair the horn now.

Default Rear light issues xk8

The saga continues.
here sa what is going on in order,
i changed the lights from 97 to the 2005 nicer lights.
everything worked after some help from white xkr on the wiring.
then the passenger side driving and stop lights stopped working.
i wired the drivers side and the passenger side together that fixed it.
or so i thought.
both sided then decided they did not wont to work and i got bulb failure on the dash.
seemed to be no power getting to the bulb, so i connected the driving and stop lights to the side markers that gave them power and they worked. but bulb failure is still on in the dash, bulb failure went out last night but today no rear lights but the stop lights , indicators, reverse and license plate lights all work.
just now driving at night i have no lights unless i put on the fog lights again.

any ideas, its not fuses as they all work except driving and side lights

thanks

First check fuses #6, 8, 15, 19, 21 in the trunk fusebox.

Doubling up loads was not a good idea. Best case, the fuses are blown. Worst case, some of the sense resistors in the bulb failure module on a '97 have burnt up due to excessive loading.

If the latter is the case, you will need to repair or replace the bulb sensing module.

Thanks. I really appreciate your help.
my car was about to be junked. By previous owner. I took pity on her and saved her. I'll post some pictures when I figure out how too.
thanks again.

It is also possible to bypass the LCM. See https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-module-24762/

Of course if you do this you will no longer have bulb failure detection.
