Default 1997 XK8 Restoration

Hey all, been a while since I posted just thought I'd give an update plus I have a radiator question. My car was crashed in front after being cut off and right when I was about to sell the car because it had been a year I was looking for a donor car, someone contacted me and sold me every single part I need including the color matched bumper cover/hood all for $800! Anyway over the year the car was started periodically to keep the fluid moving etc, however the radiator had been damaged and was taken out of the car. Basically when your standing straight on facing the front of the car, the bottom right aluminum hose had been spewing out liquid when started (no radiator just dangling hoses) and I was told it was transmission fluid but I think it may have just been coolant. If anyone has a radiator hose diagram of some sort or any input that would be great not having to tow the car to a transmission shop, Thanks!

The 2 aluminum hoses on the driver side radiator end tank are for transmission fluid cooling. Now that you have lost some of it (quantity unknown), you will have to re-do the proper refill procedure with the right fluid for proper operation.

If you get the proper radiator (i.e. the radiator with fittings for the earlier ZF 5HP24), re-attaching the hoses should be pretty straightforward.

Ah "ok"..I was hoping it was just the engine coolant because then I could just refill straight into the Reservoir tank. Thanks for the info! The radiator, condenser, and fan assembly are already back in the car. Most of the work ahead will just be prepping/installing the body parts. Thanks again.

Hi mine is a 1997 XK8 convertible . its a work in progress about 70% condition I am an aussie but live in Cambodia zero parts here maybe only 3 or 4 XK8's in the country. The car needs a grill prefer not the bunny teeth look there is one that's chrome and has the badge in center but will consider any reasonably priced replacement. also my walnut dash veneer is sun bleached and passengerairbag cover is cracked really need a new set. if in case anyone offered you these parts a
nd you dont have a use for them please let me know. I see a few for sale on internet but hope to find something cheaper. r
