Default 1998 XK8 lamp replacement with picture

After asking about replacing my old lo beams to LED I

purchased a pair of
Aukee H1 LED Bulbs, 12000Lm 6000K 60W Extremely Bright All-in-One Headlight Conversion Kit Aukee H1 LED Bulbs, 12000Lm 6000K 60W Extremely Bright All-in-One Headlight Conversion Kit
bulbs. Question is what I purchased doesn't fit, is way longer and doesn't appear correct.. I went with these as they were supposed to be plug and play. Has anyone have experience and do I have the wrong bulbs? Thank you all for your kind responses

those should work - as the bulb itself is the same size with the circuitry extending slightly behind the bulb. On the new bulb, the ferrule just above the heat sink/electrical connector should slide off. This is installed and clamped in place, then the bulb/electrical assembly is inserted into the ferrule. Here is the link to my LED replacement post

+1. I was surprised at how hard I had to pull to separate then. You probably know this but IMO you're going to have to remove the wheel liner to keep your sanity.

Thanks that makes sense now that its explained. There were no instructions or reference to remove the ferrule prior to pushing the light in as one.

glad you got it, for others, this piece pulls off, you then insert it into the clip and just press the bulb through the piece.
