Default 1999 XK8 conv hydraulic cylinder

Just purchased a 99 XK8 convertible that needs the hydraulic cylinders replaced.
My mechanic tells me he is having trouble accessing them due to their location between two metal plates.
Any ideas or suggestions??
Thank you.....Jim.

Hi Jim,

Suggestion would be get a new mechanic.. Or, be slightly more generous and direct him toward all the helpful threads here. It really is not hard to get at the cylinders; plenty of stuff needs removal, but it is quite straightforward. Just do a search and you will find step-by-step.

agree with Lars - plenty of threads here on how to access - remove the rear seat back and cushion, then remove the side panels and you can see the cylinders.
