My 98 XK8 with original chrome 17" wheels and Michelin tires doesn't ride any different than my 01 with 20" Enkei Luxury Series wheels and Falken Ziex 255-35-R20. However I had a problem when replacing the 20s. Major tire dealers would not install that size, citing something about load rating. They sold me I believe 245-45-20s which rubbed and bent the fender edge. I had to go to a jippo tire store to get the 255-35s. Cheaper too.

What is the width and offset of those 20s that had the 255-35-r20 setup that rubbed the fender?

The 255s which were on the car when I bought it didn't rub the fenders, the 245s did. They were only susposedly 1/2' wider. I don't know the offset or tire width as tires were removed. I did however discover that the upper shock mounts were detereated to the point that I had lost about 1/2 of ride height ( high mile Arizona car ). Have since replaced struts and upper mounts and gained approx. 3/4" of front ride height. Restored height may have made the difference?

I wonder if it had been lowered at some point before you had it?

Thomasso what you're saying is surprising considering what user Ungn has posted earlier in this thread (the 2 pics comparing factory with '0 offset' using 8" wheels) and also by what others have mentioned.. I wish the others were still reading this thread to get their insight

Thomasso do you have any photos of the 'before' set up (when it was rubbing)?

It doesn't seem to have been lowered. Understand it only rubbed on turns when hitting bumps as turning into driveway. Of course I have no idea f wheels are offset. Sorry no photos.
