20 Inch Senta Wheels

My wife has won me over and I am about to order an XKR for the Spring. My question is fairly straightforward.....what advantage, besides looks, do the 20 inch Senta wheels give me? Also, I am considering the upgraded Alcon brakes. Neither my wife nor I "stand on it" on a regular basis, but do periodically "open it up" on a good surface. Any input will be sincerely appreciated.
Wow, found a post from a fellow who had bent Senta rims. One of the replies said they are soft castings and bend easily on chuck holes. If that's the case, then the potholes in the Northeast won't do for these babies. Again, any input will be appreciated.

Nothing but the style my friend...only looks i am afraid. They are the best looking OEM wheel that Jag has (second to the XJR 5-spokes in my opinion). Get the Senta 20s...I repeat...get the Sentas.
From a performance standpoint, larger wheel tire combinationsare true losers. Extra big wheels weigh too much; and that extra weight hurts performance. Their additional mass causes the suspension to work much harder trying tocontrol jounce and reboundwithexisting shock and spring characterisitics. In addition, their rotational mass requires more energy toboth start and stop an already heavy car.
In areas of the country with less than smooth roads, the extra mass of the wheel tire combo, combined with thinner series rubber to absorb potholes is a recipe for bent and broken wheels. And finally, we all know the XK8's sensitivity towards wheel vibration at speed. Any heavyextra large wheels will increase the chances ofhigh speed vibrations.

Before posting, I was presuming this was not an aftermarket decision on an older car (18"19" OEM wheel) but when he ordered his new XKR, it probably comes on 20's anyway...so there won't be size difference. Price, however, will be higher. I still say go for it. Just be careful in hot/cold climates where potholes are prevelant...like aquill's old state of Michigan.
for the upgrade price of over $4k for the sentas, id go for some very nice, high quality after-market wheels. not only will you be able to keep them when you sell the car, you will be very unique when you see another XK, esp since sentas are an option on regular XKs and not just the Rs....great choice anyway you go though!
