2000 Jaguar xk8 fuel pump issues
Hi all I am new to the jaguar forums. I have a jaguar xk8 that has not started in several years. By going through threads on this website I discovered my main issue was that the fuel pump was not working. I used the hole in the trunk method (convertible) to replace the old fuel pump with a new one. After replacing the pump and fuel filter I got the car to run and idle for 20 minutes with no issues. I had to leave the car sitting again for two weeks while I was on vacation. When I returned the fuel pump will no longer activate. I already tried resetting the inertia switch under the dash to no avail. If anyone has any ideas what would cause this please let me know.

bad relay? R types have 2 pumps and 2 relays
how much gas was in there, scraping the bottom? Debris clogged new pump?
with the hole do you have easy access to pump? Is voltage present?

Thanks for the reply! Yes I tried swapping the relay for another. About 5 gallons had been left in the tank- I siphoned the gas out and cleaned the inside of the tank the best I could, then added 10 gallons and a fuel cleaning additive before starting the car. I'll check the voltage through the hole today.
