Default 2000 undertray fits a 2005 xk8?

hi guys

its me again,i apologize for the questions im just trying to bring my car back to what it should be.

so i bought an undertray from 1997 xk8 to fit my 2005 the parts guide shows it should fit....i even bought a jtis to find instruction how its installed. however, i spend about 30 minutes under the car figuring out how it should fit....the design on the 2005 bumper seems to be different....anyone out there could help me out and take a picture of underneath yôur 05?

are the valance between 1997 and 2005 different?

Different front and rear bumpers on the 4.2 model.

It's confusing because the Electronic Parts Guide uses the same Front Bumper diagram for both Model Years but note the different Part Numbers. There's even another Undertray change during the 4.2 production at VIN A40265.

The good news is you have a lower valance from the early models which seems to be a hard item to find. From some of the previous post they aren't making them anymore. You shouldn't have a problem selling to one of the members here.

That should be the one for your VIN on a 2005MY.

Good tip from both Jandreu and RCSign. You shouldn't have any difficulty getting your money back on the earlier Undertray.
