Default 2000 XJ8 engine and trans install in a 2001 XK8

I have a 2001 XK8 with 100000 miles and the secondary chain broke and wrecked the motor. I found a 2000 XJ8 with 65000 miles. Would it work to put the engine and transmission from the XJ8 into my XK8? If that would work should I switch the TCM. If would like the lower mile transmission in the car plus I would not have to split the eng and trans. Are the transmissions the same? Thanks

The only thing I can think of that will be different is the relay bracket on the top of the bell housing. ECM and TCM can stay in the car. You will want to use the XK units. There is no difference in the power train if they are both Normally Aspirated.
