Apparently the SoCal sun has taken its toll on the plastic of my 2000 XKR Coupe 3rd brake light housing. The LED bar is fine.

Is there a source for NOS parts of this type or a repair? I dont have the plastic pieces of the housing clips otherwise I'd glue it all back together. (Which begs the rhetorical question, " where the hell did the plastic pieces go?")

BTW My DIY Bosch fuel pump replacement worked out well.

 

The X300 and X308 use a third brake light manufactured by HELLA.

I no longer have an XK8 to be able to check but it's likely Jaguar continued using the same supplier.

Is the light still attached to the rear window?

Mine fell off as an assembly. I used 3M industrial strength double faced tape to stick it to the glass, but bought epoxy as a backup.

If the light is still stuck to the glass, and the plastic cover clips broke, I would consider Butyl tape to stick the cover to the light assy.

 

Same issue with mine a few years ago. Should I admit to a quality rattle can job and dual-sided tape?

I've got one or two LEDs out- living with it for now but on my back burner list for 'proper OE replacement'...
