2000 XKR overheating
My XKR just started overheating. First the loud fan would come on after I shut the car off. Then I was driving and noticed my AC wouldn't get cold. Finally, the temperature needle bumped up a little bit showing that it was over heating. I was only a few miles from home so I turned the heater on full blast and the temp dropped back down within a minute. Haven't driven it since.
Does that sound like a Thermostat? What are all of your thoughts?
I bought a thermostat to put in it just to see if that would fix it but it looks pretty tight to get to the housing. Does the Super Charger have to be removed to replace the Thermostat?
I would appreciate any kind of help you guys can offer on this one.
Thanks
JAson

That would be my initial guess from what others have posted and the techs diagnosed. I would be careful driving (i.e. NOT driving) until you get that replaced. Is it a DIY job, or too much 'crap' to remove? I also have a spare jag T-stat that is just waiting to go in, if I get the nerve to replace it. no troubles yet...knock on wood!

easy to do a thermostat.. but if it went into red.. may be a water pump.. but easy enough to try a thermostat 1st.. 3 8mm bolts that hold it in.. left side of engine in the front.. just make sure the stat goes in with the bleeder hole up.. and get all the air out of the system
