Default 2000 XKR - Supercharger worn out?

Took my XKR for a spin yesterday, it started as normal, no unusual noises. But the first time I put the foot down I heard that the supercharger whine was much higher than before. And after 20 km I stopped at a shop and 10 minutes later when I restarted the car and put it in drive it got the "supercharger rattle" at low rpm.
Before you ask; yes I changed the oil in the supercharger at 100.000 miles, the car has now 108.000 miles on the clock. AND I put on a larger lower pulley at the same time.
I took off the belt and has verified that the rattle and whine is actually from the supercharger itself. But it does not sound like a regular bearing noise in my ears. I am wondering if both the rattle and whining comes from the gears? Has the oil escaped? Has anyone experieced something like that?
I will take out the supercharger and investigate further after work today.
And one last question; will one supercharger from the newer 4,2 engine fit on my 4.0 ?
