I bought a xk8 convertible that someone has done some creative wiring with. So the headlights aren't working. My question is if anyone knows the proper order to plug the wires in. Have wiring diagrams, but they really don't explain which plug goes to which light.

 

If you look at the wiring diagram http://jagrepair.com/images/AutoRepa.../jagxk2001.pdf, Figure 9.1, the connectors are labelled LF21-# and LF31#. # is the pin number, which should be embossed on the connector shell (you might need a bright light and magnifier to see it).

The color of the wire is on the line connecting to the connector pin label in the diagram, such as 'U' for blue or 'UY' for blue-yellow. The full list of color codes is on page 13 of the above PDF.
