Default 2001 XKE first day problems

Gas guage works and the all of a suddun drops to 'E' and low gas light comes on.

Twice while going up small hills, I stepped on the gas and car started stumbling really bad, second time car would not rev over 1600 rpms?

Engine Fail safe mode was on the entire trip (120 miles).

TIA

The starting point Randy is to read the OBDII codes and post them. Go to Advance Auto or Autozone for a free read, or buy an inexpensive code reader.

Thanks, was planning on it after work.

I see were another person had the exact same problem with the gas guage, but I do not see any resolution. Hopefully he will chime in and let me know what he has found out.
