In a coupe I believe the two rears are normal midrange like in the doors.
This past weekend I was looking at the DB651s for mine. I believe they are thin enough to fit behind the grill with no problems. Already have DB6501 in the front.
Also had the sub out to make some measurements. It is a dual voice coil, and I measured 2ohm on each.
It is a sort of odd size. The opening is 8.5 inches, so a 10 won't fit without cutting. Total diameter of the mounting flange is 9-7/8 and the bolt circle is about 9.25.
It is also very shallow, about 3.5" from the flange to the bottom of the magnet. You can probably get away with about 4" before interfering with the fuel tank.
For the sub, I was looking at a Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8 as an option.
I am by no means an expert in this car audio stuff so am open to advise as well.

This weekend I installed the Polk Audio DB651s in the rear sides and Rockford Fosgate P3SD2-8.
The 651s fits perfectly in the opening and the integrated tweater is flush with the top surface of the mid, so no issues with the stock speaker grill.
The sub was some work to get installed. The opening is too large for a standard 8" and not large enough for a 10".
Rather than cutting on the car, I went the route of making an adapter plate out of some sheet steel. It's not pretty, but gets the job done.
Once installed there is as much or maybe a little more clearance to the gas tank than the stock speaker.
Sound wise, I am very happy. Much better across the entire range, especially in the low frequencies even with the stock head unit and amp. I also put dynamat on the package tray and rear bulkhead while everything was apart.

I looked around for a 10" that might fit, even if it needed a small riser so that the tapered part would go through the opening, but didn't find anything currently available.
For some of the thin style ones, there might be enough room to mount it from the bottom though.
All around, I'm happy with the outcome. Probably not audiophile quality, but a big step up from the original.

They should fit. The speaker grill is flat on the inside and in profile the integrated tweeter doesn't come past the surface of the midrange.
The other option, that a few members have done, is to use the DB6501 component speakers, putting the midrange in the door and the tweeter in the dash.

The sound is BAD compared to the original Alpine unit. I faded to R15 and turned SW up and down. Compared to the stock unit the volume is about half and the unit distorts at SW +4 and above.
Are you sure this is the correct unit i.e. 2ohm and P3SD2-8 did you compare it to the original?

How do we replace the speakers mounted on top of the dashboard? Are there tweeters available that fit where the Alpines are "and" offer an improvement? (Let's face it - we can barely hear their component to the sound)
For the most part, I'm quite pleased with the sound of the Alpine system. Unless an upgrade offers some significant improvement, I'll probably just stick with them unless (until?) something breaks.

Fade Front/Rear just to put most of the sound through the back 3 speakers. Yes I was just testing, then I tried the SW setting all the way +/- to see how it sounds. When you do the same test with the original SW sound is way way better.

If it ain't broke...
Not sure what to say...
If you check the Alpine speaker is it 2ohms? Wouldn't expect that to be different between years, but it's possible something changed along the way.
Is the Rockford one 2ohms? Maybe the new sub is defective?
