Default 2001 XKR Drivebelt

My 2001 XKR convertible has 77K miles on it with the original drive belt. The belt does not show any obvious signs of deterioration or cracking but in reading a training bulletin on the XK8 ( I believe) it indicates there are tension marks on the front of the engine to measure the stretch of the belt and when to replace. I am not getting any slippage or squeals.

I tried to see these marks but could not locate them. Does the bonnet need to be removed in order to get a good frontal view of the lower engine? What is the average life of the belt? Car is now 13 years old but not a lot of mileage.

Hoe difficult to replace? The training bulletin did not show a supercharger, which I have.

Thanks

gary

If it indeed is the original belt I would change it. I forgot what I paid for mine (XK8), but it was only about $50. Took me maybe 15 minutes once I made sure I knew how it routed.

Rubber ages and yours is 13 years old.
