Is the light on all the time, or just when you pull away or corner?
If it's the latter, it's quite normal - your traction control is cutting in to handle the power. Try easing your right foot!

Post 2002 Jaguar XKR Traction control/ sac lights on

I have had H&R lowering springs placed on my vehicle. I was getting an error code for the abs module and sent it out for rebuild. I am getting a check engine light and code C1175 I believe that to be the rear wheel speed sensor. I cleaned the sensor rear left and swapped it with the front left. The fault code is the same C1175 and a check engine light. Any ideas what could be the cause?
Thanks

The codes are wheel position specific.

C1175 is LH Rear electrical failure. This fault has the following possible causes:

1. Wheel speed sensor open or short circuit
2. Wheel speed sensor to CM circuit: high resistance, open circuit or short circuit to ground
3. Wheel speed sensor failure
4. CM failure

By swapping LH sensors front to rear, the code should have changed to C1155 if the sensor was faulty. As it's stayed the same, this suggests a harness fault is the next thing to investigate and eliminate.

To diagnose a fault in the ABS system, you will need a code reader that reads ABS codes. The most likley failure of this system is a bad wiring harness from a wheel sensor to the body (always moving and the wire breaks), but without the code, you will just be throwing expensive parts at it.

An older battery can trigger a light, in my case (2001 XK8 Coupe) I could put a charger on the battery for a few hours and upon the next restart the warning light would be gone. It won't cost you anything to try.
Good luck

Default C1175 code cleared

Thanks for your help. I Tried clearing the codes one more time and was successful. The company that rebuilt my ABS module said to drive it for awhile. I put about 300 miles on it before I was able to clear the codes. I have been driving it the last 4 days without problems now an have put an additional 150 miles on the vehicle.

My code reader will not read ABS codes. Any recommendations on what readers will work with a Jag? Having issues with ABS light on my 2004 XJR.

Default code reader

I am presently using the Logworks wireless reader by Innovate Motorsport. the software is purchased as an app. and the reader is purchased also. It can be read on your phone or on your computer,Ipad or other device. It works with my 2001 XKR,my 2004 Lincoln Navigator, 2009 Scion XB but not with my 2004 Land Rover Discovery II ( they tend to be more temperamental). I am not 100% sold on this reader. I recommend doing more research.

Default Code Reader

the logworks device reads codes and has other functions such as GPS based dyno, economy, speed timing capabilities. I would recomend online research for a better description. I have used it to diagnose ABS. I sent my ABS/traction control module in and had it repaired. Problem was solved, lean codes on engine banks which were caused by a small crack on the bottom of my intake plenum ( where the flexible ribs are).Brake light switch diagnosed and replaced. There were probably a few other items that I don't remember right now. Hope this helps.

curious how you found the leak in the intake plenum. I have the lean code issue on and off.

So you were able to read ABS codes on the device? and it lead you to the module?

thanks

The majority of abs repairs are to the pump solder connection and there are several services that can be found on ebay. Many of the members have repaired their own. My preferred method is to cat a hole in in the case opposite the pins.

Default ABS Module

Hi Ryejag,
I have sent 2 ABS Modules to BBA-Reman in Mass. for repair and been happy with their service.
As far as diagnosing the intake leak, I was getting a lean code for right and left banks. This meant more air was going into the throttle body than the mass air flow sensor was measuring. I looked up threads on the forum for possible causes. That is the reason that I took off the air intake tube or plenum and found cracks in between the bellows or folds of the plastic.
I hope this helps.
