I am going to put a new pressure regulator valve in my transmission, ZF5HP24.
My Jaguar service CD calls for Shell M1375.4
ATF for the refill. There are several options since it appears the Shell is not available. What is the best alternative?
Also, any tips on replacing the pressure valve will be greatly appreciated.

The obvious choice would by ZF Lifeguard 5 which was not available when the car was released but is fully compatible with all 5HP gearboxes.

I actually use Mobil LT71141 which is cheaper in the UK than Lifeguard and is identical and was the original recommended fluid over here. I believe that it is known as Esso LT71141 in the USA, assuming that it is still available over there.

? AFAIK, that is a fluid for the 6-speed 6HP26 fitted to the 4.2L. It is not the same as used in the 5HP24.

There are a few alternatives to Lifeguard 5:- LT71141, VW, Peugeot, etc. Grab yourself some popcorn and do a forum search on 'best trans fluid...'
