Funnily enough I am doing exactly that at the moment.
This is what mine sounds like now, I wondered what the noise was!
I bought a AVT pump off Ebay. Dont waste your money. Mine is boxed up and ready to go back.
Bosch does seem to be the right way to go. Tell you what its easier for you to have a read and follow my progress. Take a look.................. click me to read it goes from wondering what the din was right up to today where I am awaiting my new Bosch pump. When its all done I will put up a "what I did", bit like a 'how to'. You will see what I mean after I have done it. Just keep browsing the pages up to today.

I put the bosch pump on mine. I love it and my intercooler and heat exchangers are always cool or at the most warm to the touch. The pump requires a little modification though bc the connector is different and the mounting rubber pieces Need to be trimmed to fit but it works!
I got the connector and pins from a mercedes dealer. Part numbers are on this site somewhere.
best mod ive made!

Basically what mine sounds like. I took off the air box and unplugged it to make sure. im just being thrifty and don't want to pay $400 + when it seems like Bosch are around $100

Why is it one of the best mods you have done? Probably makes it quieter but any other advantage?
still quiet but mines has always been quiet.
ill try and find the parts list. The pump was only $100 or so
