2003 cruise control question
I decided to use my cruise control the other day and the car maintained my chosen speed very accurately. Here's my question. The cruise control also maintained my set speed while going down a long grade. I could feel the car being slowed. I'm going to assume that besides the throttle being slacked electronic braking was involved which is something I've never noticed in other cars with cruise control. That braking didn't disengage the cruise control like a driver using the brakes would. Part two of my question is that when the car is controlling/maintaining its down hill speed (cruise control is probably linked to the cars ABS system?) are the brake lights being activated?

In my car with the Active Cruise Control (the radar thingy) it does indeed use the brakes and the brake light will come on. It can actually put the brakes on fairly hard, and scared the crap out of me the first time I experienced it.
I have no experience with the standard cruise.
