Default 2003 U-joint grease question

Can the u-joints on my 03 XK8 be greased, do they have nipples to attach grease gun to so I can grease the rears? My shop when they had the car said they can be greased, when I asked about it after they finished the car he claimed he never told me that. So it was not done. My googling of it says otherwise if I read it right? Can I do it myself.

Yes you can do this but you will need to get the car on jcak stands or on a lift.

What type of grease should be used? I'm planning on using my marine 2-4-C grease which is in my grease gun.

I went with this: Mystik JT-6 High Temperature grease

Found it at Walmart of all places...

Basically, both ends of each drive shaft can be greased (4 nipples total). They are kind of recessed but can be reached with a normal grease gun. They are at 90 deg from each other on each drive shaft.

Only the four on the u joints, and just about any grease will do.

I just keep my grease gun filled with Mobil 1 synthetic grease, which is red. It is waterproof and long lasting.

Standard size does it. A needle tip can be useful too.

Question U-joint nipples help

Ok so got my new floor jack and Lucas grease gun jacked up car from standard position placed jack stand crawled under but gun Assembly on end of flex hose seems or be to big to gain access to the nipple, can't get a straight shot at it .
What am I doing wrong? Do I have to jack up from another spot to raise wheel after chasie is in the air or get a shorter nipple for the grease gun? I'm usually pretty good at doing most work myself but this has me beat for now if the nipple assembly on the end of the hose was an inch shorter would not be having this issue. Any advice accepted I know it can be done.
Thanks all

Are you attempting to do this with the fittings facing the aft of the car?

It is a little tight but achievable.

This job seems much easier when I used a Needle End attachment mounted on end of flex hose. The needle end depresses the ball and sends grease direct into the zerk. Also have used a cone end adapter that fit well on CV joints on 4WD vehicle.

I went to grease my U-joints today and found I couldn't get my regular grease gun coupler to attach to the outboard nipples properly because of the angle the nozzle has to sit at to clear the hub. Bought both a needle nozzle and a narrow body coupler from my local parts store, but the needle didn't work for me either (tip too large to push the ball out of the way). The narrow body coupler was perfect though. I used this one, just thought I'd share.

FWIW, I use a Lock N Lube coupler.A little pricey, but no mess, the grease goes in where it belongs. I have plenty of fittings to justify it.

I jack up the car and remove the wheel one side at a time. Then you can rotate the hub to get at the grease fittings.
