What is the rear badging on the 03 xk8 supposed to look like? My car has the small xk8 badge below the passenger side rear tail light and nothing else besides the word Jaguar over the trunk lid. I have seen others that also have a badge on the rear that denotes 4.2 for the "new" engine. Thanks in advance.

 

mine has XK8 below the driver's side rear tail light, jaguar on the chrome plinth, and 4.2 below the passenger's side tail light

 

mine (uk) has jaguar on chrome boot plinth,xk8 with key slot below driver side tail light,jaguar below passenger side tail light,4.2 between plinth and driver side tail light and v8 between plinth passenger side tail light.

 

Mine has chrome Jaguar plinth (the XKR has colour coded), 4.2-S badge on the left and XK8 on the right (which is also the luggage compartment keyway).



There's several options in the parts list:

I'd expect yours to have either a combination of items 1+8 or items 2+5.

Is the missing 4.2 badge just how some cars came from the factory or is mine just missing?

 

It's a stick-on badge. There's no fixings or holes in the bodywork so your car may have been delivered like that or been the victim of a trophy hunter.

Hey, Graham, you forgot to mention the egg-yolk lights, lol. Have you installed your SilverVisions yet?

 

Yes, the egg-yolks gone.

It's also a lot cleaner than when that photo was taken after a 700 mile overnight drive across England and France.
