Default 2003 XKR Adaptive Cruise Control Module

Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice weekend. Wanted to run something by you guys. The cruise on my 03 XKR has been out for some time. I would turn the car on and once I got over 5 mph the "cruise unavailable" message would appear without any other messages. In doing research over the last year I have been thinking that I need to replace my adaptive cruise control module. The part number for my unit is 2W93-9AA12-BB. I have seen a number of varying part numbers for my model year for the same part and I figured that since these units are so scarce I would give a different part number a shot. Found a seller on eBay who agreed to let me return the part if it did not work and I bought part 2W93-9AA12-BD. It looks identical and apparently came off of an 04 XJR. The listing referenced 2003-2005 XJRs and XKRs as being models that would work with this part.

I made the switch which was thankfully a pretty easy task to accomplish and now "cruise unavailable" is showing constantly and of course the cruise does not work. Have you guys had any experience with using different adaptive cruise control modules? Any idea if the part number that I purchased would work and if not, any idea of what other part numbers I could use? I have not had any luck finding the identical part number to mine other than one for $4k or something along those lines which is too much to invest in the car at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.

Thanks!

Corey

ALL X100 4.2 XKs should use the C2C23960 or C2C23960E (EXCHANGE) to VIN A40264.
There were SUPERSEDED part numbers. The original part number was C2C1285 but all should supersede to C2C23960.

Different units after that.

Thanks for the info. What is strange is that my car has 2W93-9AA12-BB and I believe it is original. When I do a search for C2C23960 I see that it is meant to replace both 2W93-9AA12-BB and 2W93-9AA12-BD. Is this C2c23960 part a new one that they developed after the cars were out in the market? Also, if it works for both part numbers I referenced wouldn't 2W93-9AA12-BD work on my car?

Thanks!
Corey

2W93-9AA12-BB and 2W93-9AA12-BD look more like Ford part numbers but they are not Jaguar part numbers.

A used part from an earlier car will NOT have all the superseded part numbers but if they are from a 'like-car' they should work fine.

The first part number was C2C1285 and they had newer part numbers as the years went by until C2C23960.(final part number)

The thing is the unit that came off of my car has that 2W93-9AA12-BB on it. It is a Jaguar part as well.

Hi Corey and all:
I know this post is a little old, but I have the same issue. I bought the car knowing the cruise did not work, but would love to fix it. I have the same adaptive cruise part no 2W93-9AA12-BB which was originally manufactured by Delphi. I am pretty sure this is the issue as mine shows signs of having been opened up. I was just wondering if you ever found a replacement or a solution? I see in this thread the possibility that the adaptive cruise may be deleted so that it becomes a regular cruise control. I have seen a couple of other posts on that but have not found anyone that has done it. Does anyone have information on either a replacement module (i.e., where to find one) or prefereably the way to delete adaptive cruise?

thanks!
Neil

Hi Neil,

Sorry on my delay! Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I have not found a replacement module in well over a year of looking. There was a used one for sale on JagBits I believe and I ordered it then they said it was unavailable. In my extensive research of this topic on this board I do not recall ever coming across a way of deactivating the adaptive and having regular cruise control. Sure wish that was an option! If you find out how please let me know. Otherwise, I think I will just continue to live with the annoying Cruise Not Available light for the rest of my life :-(

Thanks,

Corey

I have NEVER tried this BUT.............

What if you enter the VIN on IDS and then when the vehicle specs load and ask IS THIS CORRECT?, you can just say NO and select ADAPTIVE SPEED CONTROL NOT FITTED.

It might be worth a try?

Hi Motorcarman
I think that is a great suggestion. I recently ordered some software online to see if i can get into it. I don't have access to a real Jag IDS, but i will see what i can get into when the software arrives. I am just a bit concerned about doing something that will result in needing a tow to the Jag dealership! But i would love a way to just get it to a regular cruise control!
